Our Commitment to Sustainability
As an industry leader, we're committed to a strong sustainability program. However, for us, it's more than a corporate responsibility. It's our responsibility as fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters to offer products that are not only good for you, but good for the planet. As such, we're constantly looking for ways to reduce our impact on the environment.
But we don't expect you to just take our word for it. Let's look at how we've turned our words into action.
We begin with a lean manufacturing process. We don't overproduce or create excess inventory, so our process leads to less general wastefulness. Moreover, we reduce energy inefficiencies, such as excess water usage and excess packaging, thus curtailing emissions, effluents, and landfill waste and slashing our carbon footprint considerably.
By effecting change in our manufacturing and transportation processes, we've achieved a 49% reduction in total solid waste to landfill in three years. Additionally, we've cut back on the amount of diesel fuel used in transportation by 5,700 gallons annually. We've also recently brought two plants to zero-landfill status. Lastly, we've educated our employees on the basics of sustainability and how they can get involved.
In the end, it's not just good for business, it's good for you and it's better for the planet. Not to mention, it's the right thing to do.
