Sustainability improvements across our businesses

As the largest producer of wet wipes, we touch consumers of our products globally across all markets more than 100 billion times a year. We are constantly seeking newer, better, and greener solutions and processes.

Sustainability is built-in to our comprehensive quality management and production efficiency practices worldwide. We track and report greenhouse gas emissions and resource consumption data internally. We align our broad, comprehensive, long-term view on sustainability and corporate responsibility with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We are proud of these sustainability improvements across our businesses:

  • Greenhouse Gas Emissions Intensity: Down 6.4% since 2016
  • Energy Use Intensity: Down 8.3% since 2016
  • Water Use Intensity: Down 9% since 2016
  • Waste: 5 out of 6 plants have obtained zero landfill status

Plus, we are constantly looking for ways to incorporate recycling and reduce our plastic use. We reduced the plastic in our packaging by 80% when we switched from canisters to soft packs. Nice-Pak International has successfully rolled out recyclable packaging with a product in the UK and we aim to bring that technology to the US. We are a member of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition® (SPC) and are committed to creating packaging that is good for people and the environment. We are actively seeking potential solutions that work with local recycling systems or retail take-back programs.
